Employment Procedure

1. Positions are posted for five (5) business days in the Job Opportunities Bulletin for internal applicants. This listing is available at Casa Central, 1343 North California and is also sent to the employees via email. All positions that are not filled will remain on the Job Bulletin for 30 days.

2. Employees interested in applying must submit a completed internal application and any other documents that may be required for the position within the five (5) business day period to the Human Resources Department.

3. External candidates may apply only for positions that are currently open. Applications will only be accepted at Casa Central, 1343 North California or resumes may be faxed to (773) 645-5442 or sent by email to hr@casacentral.org. The applications will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. If the application is made within the first five (5) business days of the posting, the external applicant will be considered with the first group of candidates. If the application is made after the closing date, the external candidate will be considered only if a selection is not made from the first group of candidates.

4. The Human Resources Specialist enters all of the job applications and resumes into the database and screens for qualified applicants. Applicants are sent a card or a message via email that their application/resume has been received, and if not selected, that their application/resume will remain on file for one year. The most qualified applicants are forwarded to the hiring managers and those selected will be contacted and scheduled for an interview.

5. The most qualified candidate will be scheduled for a second interview with the President. Wherever possible, departments and programs should have a second choice candidate in the event that the top candidate is not extended a job offer.

6. Candidates who were interviewed, but not selected, will be notified by the Human Resources Specialist that another candidate was chosen.

7. Once a candidate is selected, only the President, Vice President of Programs, or the Director of Human Resources may extend an offer of employment.

8. Once an offer has been made, the employee continues the pre-employment process with the Human Resources Department by completing required paperwork and being sent for the prescreening examinations. Along with the hiring managers, Human Resources will set a start date for the employee and schedule a date for the New Hire Orientation.
