Over 55 Employment Program
Throughout this period, the case manager from Casa Central supports participants by helping with job searches and applications while advocating with potential employers on their behalf. The case worker also addresses other issues as they arise.
Right now, the majority of the positions are in housekeeping, building maintenance, security monitoring, and elder care or childcare. The over 55 Employment Program enrollees work and train in their assigned positions for up to 20 hours a week and receive subsidized wages through the program.
Among other requirements, applicants must provide proof of eligibility to work; pass a physical examination; live within the City of Chicago; be identified as low-income, and provide proof of household income.
