Senior Programs

Critical to Casa Central's mission is the health and wellbeing of the community's elderly. An often neglected group, seniors: our parents, grandparents and family members, are an important element of the family unit. Through our programs seniors are given the opportunity to interact with their peers, work with young people and for those with physical or other restraints, receive the care they need onsite or in their homes.

"Casa Central's Adult Wellness Center saved my mother's life and my family..."

Jorge was very happy living in Chicago but he worried about his mother in Columbia who was getting older and did not have her children nearby to care for her. Despite some reluctance, Jorge was able to convince his mother, Aura, to move to Chicago.
Although several of Jorge's siblings were also here, they all worked long hours and didn't have a lot of time to spend with their mother during the day. Despite their good intentions, Jorge was beginning to wonder if he had made a mistake.
