Every year Casa Central gives three employees the Quality Service Award in recognition for their work and commitment to provide a level of best practice that promotes a culture that values service quality.

Laura Barrios has worked at Casa Central for five years in the Home Care Services program serving a total of 14 participants throughout the years. Currently, in her role as a Home Care Aide, Laura assists participants with meal prepping, light housekeeping, and ensures participants are managing their health and medication. She monitors participant’s progress in the Home Care Services program, including any concerns, changes, or issues regarding the participant’s emotional, cognitive, or physical functioning, to ensure the participant’s ongoing safety and well-being. Even when her workload is full, she is always looking for additional ways to help and support her co-workers and the Home Care Services program. Her coworkers share that Laura is responsible, dedicated, and compassionate about the job she provides to her participants. Thank you for your hard work, Laura. Congratulations!
María Bernabé has worked at Casa Central for six years in the Home Care Services program. In her current role, as a Home Care Supervisor, María supervises a team of 30 Home Care Aides and conducts home visits to ensure participants in the Home Care Services program are receiving the services they require. This year, María was nominated by her peers for the 2019 Quality Award. María is a dedicated, responsible, and loyal employee who builds a strong environment for her team every day. She leads by example and is always there to help and support her team to get the job done. She is committed to each case her team manages and supervises her team with compassion and respect. You are likely to find her promoting the Home Care Services program and other Casa Central programs at events and informing the community on services Casa Central offers. Magaly Mendiola has worked at Casa Central in the La Posada program for four years. In her current role as a Family Support Case Manager, she works with families who have been experiencing homelessness to secure permanent housing; This includes assisting families in obtaining employment, benefits, and connecting them with available resources in the community to support self-sufficiency. Magaly served on the Quality Enhancement Team for three years and brought lots of energy, ideas, and commitment to the team. This year, during Giving Tuesday, she was a fundraising champion and raised awareness and funds for Casa Central. Magaly was nominated by her peers to receive the 2019 Quality Award for her outstanding work. Magaly strongly supports the entire team at La Posada and goes above and beyond in her work to ensure the success of every family. Even though she works with challenging cases and families facing multiple obstacles and barriers, she stays positive and goal oriented. She works tirelessly to secure the needed services for families and ensure they complete the program successfully with stable incomes and permanent housing. She treats both participants and other co-workers with the dignity and respect they deserve, and always has a positive attitude. Congratulations and thank you for your hard work Magaly!
