For undocumented immigrants, the fear of deportation is causing significant stress. In the past, law enforcement focused its efforts on only deporting those who broke the law, but this no longer seems to be the case. Additionally, those who are in the country with documentation are concerned about their legal status, as well as increased racism and discrimination. And to add to the stress and anxiety, parents have to explain to children, of varying ages, what is happening and the plan in the event the children become separated from their parents.
