Just as she was about to graduate from high school, Brandy Rivera fell ill and spent time in the hospital.  She almost missed her high school graduation ceremony but pretended to feel better so that she could attend.

Brandy took the 13-week course at Casa Central and found a job as a nursing assistant at a retirement center in Chicago.  Brandy’s mother is a registered nurse and also raised Brandy as a single mom.  She credits her mother as an important positive influence.  Brandy would like to become a phlebotomist because she’s very interested in lab work.

For more than 56 years, Casa Central has helped Chicagoans become self-sufficient through its network of social services. Our multi-media campaign, “The Week of Hope/La Semana de La Esperanza” is a great opportunity for Chicagoans to help Casa Central transform lives, such as Brandy Rivera's life.

During “The Week of Hope/La Semana de La Esperanza,” we dedicated an entire week to highlighting our programs, participants and sponsors through radio, print and digital media.

From June 6th to June 10th, 2011, Casa Central and several media partners presented stories of hope and success from among our thousands of clients. Our different media sponsors highlighted Casa Central’s programs throughout the week.

La Pagina de La Esperanza appeared in Hoy Newspaper for five editions beginning June 6th. The four Univision Radio stations in Chicago served as our radio partners, broadcasting public service messages and interviews with our clients.

Casa Central's e-newsletter highlighted “Stories of Hope” and acknowledged our sponsors for this week-long initiative.

Our sponsors and supporters will also appear in Casa Central's social media pages in Facebook and Twitter.
