Call for Entries: Fifth Annual Children's Art Contest

The 3rd Week of April is CHILDHOOD EXPOSURE TO VIOLENCE PREVENTION WEEK! Help Casa Central & Heartland Human Care Services celebrate the week by participating in our fifth annual art contest!

CALL FOR ENTRIES: Our 2016 theme is MY DREAMS FOR A PEACEFUL FUTURE. This is a call for art from all of Chicago’s children and youth ages 18 and under – send us your artwork showcasing your vision and dreams for a world without violence!

This contest is open to all young people. Entries will be judged by age level on originality, creativity and how well the entry illustrates the theme.

Age Levels:                      Artistic Genre Categories:

-Birth to 4 years old        -Rendering (posters, paintings, etc.)

-5-7 years old                 -3-Dimensional (sculptures, crafts)

-8-10 years old               -Photographs

-11-13 years old             -Poetry/Writing

-14-18 years old             -Video/Media

CONTEST RULES

Artists must be between the ages of birth and 18. Entries must be original, must relate to the theme described above, and must be accompanied by a completed entry form. The deadline for contest submissions has been extended to April 20, 2016.

Contest winners will be announced at an awards ceremony and showcase on April 22, 2016, 4-7 pm (awards distributed at 6 pm), at the Bridgeport Arts Center, 1200 West 35th Street. Free parking is available behind the building, in the North lot. Please enter through the back of the building, off the parking lot.
