Casa Central's 70th Anniversary

1954 was the year of Casa Central’s humble beginning. In a rented storefront on the near west side of Chicago, a group of Hispanic pastors founded an organization meant to give welcoming aid to new immigrants.

2024 is our 70^th Anniversary — our Platinum Anniversary! Casa Central has grown to one of the largest Latino social services agencies in the Midwest. We still welcome immigrants, but our services and programs have grown to empower families and individuals of every age.

Today, our eight, wide-ranging programs serve infants and toddlers, preschool children, tweens and teens, families of every kind, and older adults. Our services are culturally sensitive, bilingual, and comprehensive.

2024 is a year for the Casa Central family to celebrate the hard work and dedication that has brought us this far… a year where we recognize the passion and resolve of the Casa Central family throughout the decades.  Our supporters and volunteers are just as much a part of Casa Central as our participants and staff, so we invite you to join in the celebration. We have plenty of events in store, so stay tuned for more information and updates.

Castro, our President & CEO, along with Mireya Almaraz, Recruitment Coordinator, Home Care Services, appeared on ABC7 Eyewitness News, where they were interviewed live. They discussed our anniversary and history and spoke in detail about our programs that provide full-spectrum services for older adults; in their homes and in our facility. We’re Gettin’ Down with our Anniversary at our fundraising Gala this year! On October 18th, we’ll be throwing a ‘70s Disco Party to celebrate our 70 years… our theme is “Studio 1954” and we’ll be grooving all night at Lacuna Lofts. Dress code: polyester. More details to come, but we hope you will join us as we party on the dance floor!
