Casa Central is honored to announce Peoples Gas as the August Sponsor of the Month. For over two decades, Peoples Gas has joined forces with Casa Central to transform lives and strengthen communities in Chicago. With Peoples Gas’ support, Casa Central’s culturally responsive and cross-generational programming have become a mainstay in the Latino community. With their continued support, Peoples Gas has propelled thousands of families toward self-sufficiency.
Year after year, Peoples Gas supports Casa Central through various initiatives such as event sponsorship, grant funding, volunteerism, and employee giving and matching programs. Through these methods of support, Peoples Gas and Peoples Gas’ employees have collectively provided over $200,000 in support.
Peoples Gas takes on an active role in their communities by serving on nonprofit boards and volunteering their time. Director of Construction, Salvador Arana, serves as a member of the organization’s Board of Directors, providing guidance and leadership to the organization. Most recently, he joined Peoples Gas’ Hispanic Employee Resource Group, LISTO! , in a community service activity. Nearly 20 employee volunteers took time out of their busy weekend schedule to paint the hallways of our Adult Wellness Center. Through their service, they are helping us provide compassionate and trustworthy care that will improve the emotional, physical, and cognitive well-being of the aging population in our community. Our participants and staff are thrilled with the new colors, which have made the space a more warm, inviting, and uplifting place.
In recognition of their work, Casa Central’s Advancement Officer, Rebecca Zavala, expressed, “It is apparent that the group is dedicated and genuinely passionate about making a positive impact in their communities. I also continue to be amazed with LISTO! , specifically the co-leads, who were organized, prompt, and rallied such an enthusiastic and productive crew. We continue to be impressed with the enthusiasm and dedication that the group brought to the project, which serves as a model for true volunteerism and community partnership.”
Thank you Peoples Gas for all you do for not just Casa Central, but communities in need throughout the Chicago area.
