Child Abuse Prevention: Everyone Has A Role To Play!
Children are our future, and every child deserves to grow up in a safe and healthy environment.
Child Abuse Prevention Month has been observed each April since its first presidential proclamation in 1983. Since that time individuals, organizations, and communities across country have participated in this exciting campaign to increase awareness of child maltreatment, and the importance of its prevention.
This year Casa Central will join communities across the nation to celebrate our children, and continue our mission to enhance our community’s ability to care about, and actively support, children and families. When we recognize that everyone can participate in helping to strengthen families, we can have an enormous impact on our children’s health and success.
Preventing child abuse means setting the stage for healthy, stable families who have the tools they need for nurturing their children. Each of us can play a role in helping our community to better understand child abuse prevention by supporting programs and services that help families and children; being a good neighbor; offering to baby-sit; donating used children’s clothing, furniture and toys for another family; being kind and supportive to new parents; or responding to families in crisis and linking families to needed services and opportunities.
How will you participate today?
