For nearly 40 years, Casa Central's Violence Prevention & Intervention Program (VPI) has worked to help children and families heal from the trauma of violence and disrupt the cycle of a potential life of violence in the future.
Each year, Casa Central takes time in October to focus public awareness on these issues. Awareness — combined with action — is a way to bring about the necessary changes needed to reduce and eliminate domestic violence of all kinds.
Here are some links to resources to help spread awareness, and offer help and hope to individuals and families caught in the cycle of violence and trauma:
- The Network has provided essential domestic violence resources, training, and systems advocacy for decades: Home - The Network
- Connections for Abused Women and their Children (CAWC) empowers adults and their children with the skills they need to live a life that is free of fear and to move forward on their healing journey
- Sarah’s Inn offers comprehensive domestic violence support and services in Chicago and West Cook County
- The 24-hour Domestic Violence Help Line is 1-877-863-6338. If your immediate safety is at risk, please call 911.
You are not alone.
Together with your support, Casa Central works to create communities free of relationship violence.
