Casa Central proudly announces the appointment of five new members to its Board of Directors.

Joining the Board of Directors are: Maureen Flood, Principal and Partner at EY’s People Advisory Services in Chicago, Mark Shulman, Head of Consumer Lending at BMO Harris Bank, David Escontrias Assistant Vice-President for the Latino Division at Combined Insurance, a Chubb company, Ana Belaval, Feature Reporter at WGN-TV, and Vania Wit, Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at United Airlines.

“All five of our new Board members embody the spirit of community and bring talent, expertise, and energy to the table. We are very fortunate to have them join us as we continue to strengthen and support Casa Central’s mission.” said Joseph Teller, Casa Central’s Board Chairperson.

Maureen Flood is a Principal and Partner at EY’s People Advisory Services based in Chicago. Ms. Flood has more than 19 years of experience in HR talent strategy enablement and global mobility. Ms. Flood brings extensive experience with respect to the management of international mobility programs, including development and implementation of policies, multi-country tax planning, payroll compliance, and compensation structuring for many large multi-national clients.

David Escontrias is an insurance executive who has excelled at delivering sustainable growth through operational excellence, multiple distribution channels, and through the use of best-in-class Training and Development. Currently, Mr. Escontrias serves as the Assistant Vice President for the Latino Division at Combined Insurance, a Chubb company. Mr. Escontrias most recently served on Casa Central’s Emerging Leaders Advisory Board.

Mark Shulman joined BMO Harris Bank in August of 2016 and has served as the Head of Consumer Lending since December 2018. Mr. Shulman is responsible for the profitability of U.S. consumer lending products and manages lending strategy, products, risk management, pricing, secondary marketing, underwriting and operations. Prior to this role, Mr. Shulman was Head of Consumer Credit Risk at BMO Harris Bank with responsibility for independent risk oversight of the consumer lending businesses. He also serves as the banks Chief Community Reinvestment Officer.

Vania Wit is the Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at United Airline’s Legal Department. Ms. Wit’s responsibilities include managing teams of attorneys and legal professionals responsible for commercial and government contracts, litigation, anti-trust, intellectual property, labor, employment and benefits. Before arriving at United Airlines, she worked for a law firm in Chicago and specialized in employment law. Ms. Wit also serves on the boards of the National Immigrant Justice Center and Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School.

Ana Belaval is a four time Emmy winning reporter in Chicago. For the past 15 years, she’s be the host of the daily segment Around Town in the number one morning show in the city, ‘WGN Morning News”. She is a contributor to the Latino public affairs show “Adelante Chicago” on WGN. Ana is one of the few reporters in the nation to have successfully achieved the crossover from the Spanish to the English market. Prior to WGN, she worked for nine years as a weekend anchor, general assignment reporter for Univision Chicago and as the East Coast correspondent for Univision’s network morning show “Despierta America”. Because of her work in English and Spanish in Chicago, Ana has a special and unique connection with the Latino community in the city.
